Eli Nichols

Vice President, Technical Operations

Eli is an accomplished designer and inventor in the medical device space with numerous issued patents and several patents pending. When Eli started at Gilero in 2013 as a Design Engineer, he developed an anesthetic buffering system for a client that resulted in Gilero being named Most Innovate Supplier at MD&M East in 2015. In his current role as Vice President of Technical Operations, he oversees Gilero’s design transfer team and serves as technical expert for both design & development and manufacturing projects within Gilero. Eli has been a project manager or technical lead on dozens of projects and a technical contributor on over 100 projects. His core strengths are in brainstorming, troubleshooting, mechanical design, leadership, and general problem solving throughout all phases of the product development process. He spent the first part of career in academia as a staff R&D engineer at Duke University, focusing largely on development of medical technologies in the medical imaging space. Eli has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management, both from Duke University. He is also a licensed professional engineer in the state of North Carolina. While attending Duke University, Eli was a captain on the football team and a two time Academic All American.
