Preservative Free Eye Dropper Overview

Gilero created custom components (tip and cap) for the ophthalmic product that are compatible with an off-the-shelf bottle. The tip was designed to include a mechanism that allows the fluid path to be opened and closed. When the cap is twisted onto the bottle, a custom spring closes the fluid path. Gilero’s Manufacturing Process Engineers developed an Ultrasonic welding process used in the assembly process to keep the spring contained within the system.

The tip contains four molded components (injection molded by Gilero’s manufacturing site in China) two of which are over-molded with mesh, a spring, and silicone O-rings. Gilero’s design engineers worked closely with our process engineers to ensure the design for the product would result in efficient supply chain and manufacturing processes. Also, Gilero sourced sterilization partners for the components as these components must be sterile to be used in aseptic filling.
